Cortex Wire is a Calgary-based supplier of welded wire mesh for concrete. We supply fabricators, contractors, precast plants and any other business that needs mesh, across Canada.
What we do
We supply 6 gauge and 4 gauge welded wire mesh sheets, quote delivery to site or yard anywhere in Canada, and publish guides that answer the questions buyers ask about mesh. We have supplied welded wire mesh to Canam Group for about two years, and more recently to Armada Steel.

What we believe
Buyers should get a straight answer about mesh: which size, where it goes in the slab, and whether they need it at all. A lot of what is online is written by people selling the alternative. We try to do better.
How we write our guides
- Sources first. Each guide is built on standards (ASTM, CSA, ACI) and published research. Sources are linked at the bottom of every page.
- Plain language. Written for people on site, with imperial and metric units side by side.
- Honest limits. If research shows mesh is the wrong choice for a job, we say so.
- Kept current. Each guide shows the date it was last updated, and we revisit technical pages when standards change.
